Clinical History:
A seven-year-old boy had
had a mass in the left lower quadrant of his abdomen, which had appeared
and then disappeared several times in the two previous months. Sometimes
he had bloody mucous stools. He had had severe abdominal pain for 4 days
before admission. Here are his plain abdominal film, ultrasonograms, and
barium study.
