Chiang Mai Medical Journal (Formerly Chiang Mai Medical Bulletin) is an official journal of the
Faculty of Medicine, Chiang Mai University. It will accept original papers on clinical and experimental
research that are pertinent in the biomedical sciences. The Journal published 4 issues/year (quarterly).
Original articles, short communication, case reports, review articles, letters to the Editor and miscellany are
welcome. All manuscripts submitted to Chiang Mai Medical Journal must not have been previously
published or under consideration for publication elsewhere. Following publication, Chiang Mai Medical
Journal reserve the copyright of all published material and such material may not be reproduced in any
form without written permission from the Chiang Mai Medical Journal. |
| Manuscript preparation
- The manuscript: The manuscript must be written in English. Type the manuscript double spaced on
A4- size paper (212x297mm), one side only, and leave an ample margin of at least 2.5 cm (1 in) on all
sides of the page. The total number of pages should not exceed 15, including figures and tables. Six
figures and/or tables are allowed for each manuscript.
- Title page: The title page must be written in both Thai and English and should contain : 1) Title of the
article, which must be clear and informative; 2) full names of all authors and their highest academic
degrees; 3) positions of authors and academic affiliations (one department and institution each); 4) a
short running head; and 5) name, postal address, telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail address of
the author for correspondence and reprint requests.
- Abstract: Following the title page, write an abstract of no more than 200 words in both Thai and
English, which includes the rationale of the study or report, the methods, results and conclusions.
- Text: The text should be organized in the following order: Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion,
Acknowledgements, References, Tables and Figures. Numbers that appear in numerical order
should not exceed 2 decimal places.
- Table: Each table should be on a separate sheet of paper. Give each table a number and a title. Number
tables in the order of which they are mentioned in the text.
- Figures: Photographs should be black and white, and printed on glossy photographic paper. Professionally
drawn figures using India ink or a laser print on white paper are also accepted. Use an arrow
to designate special features. On the back of each figure, write the figure number, draw an arrow
indicating “top”, and write the name of the first author in pencil. Reproduction of all previously
published material must be accompanied by written consent obtained from the copyright holder,
which is usually the publisher.
- Figure legends: Figure legends should be typed on a separate sheet of paper.
- References: List the references in consecutive, numerical order, as they are cited in the text. Use the
Vancouver style. If the list of authors exceeds 6, the first 3 authors followed by et al should be listed
for those references. Abbreviate journal titles according to the style used in the Index Medicus. See

- We encourage all authors to submit the names, and contact and e-mail addresses of 2-3 persons, who they would like to review their work.
